George Herter was a less than totally honest marketeer!  Herter went out of business in the late 70's.

The knife he claimed as his own is actually not. In the late 1950's, D.H. Russell, owner of a cutlery store in Toronto, designed The Original Canadian Belt Knife. The knife is still being made.
